Nice weather--toe-tapping music--fun activities--new friends
What more could a girl want?
I had such an enjoyable time this weekend at my Snow Melts in Spring book launch in Cottonwood Falls. My mom, dad and youngest daughter accompanied me on the trip, and we stayed in my parents' RV, which was loads of fun. I signed LOTS of books and made some wonderful new friends. (My daughter even sang and played her guitar with the bluegrass musicians Friday night--an extra-special treat.)
Because it was the same weekend as the Symphony in the Flint Hills and the Flint Hills Folklife Festival, we had plenty of traffic, great food and fun entertainment. My heartfelt thanks to Sue Smith at the Emma Chase Cafe & Prairie Pasttimes for hosting me and making me feel so welcome! Special thanks to my helpers, Julane & Kathy -- what would I do without your support! And here's another great big hug to those who "surprised me" with their visit--KS author and lovely friend, Judith Miller, and my oldest brother & his wife, Kenny & Lori!
I cannot imagine a better way to launch this first book in the Seasons of the Tallgrass. Next weekend we're off for Burns, KS to do a book signing at the Sticks & Twigs gift shop and then to Washunga Days in Council Grove on Saturday! Let the launch fun in the Flint Hills continue! Maybe I'll see you there!
