A few weeks ago, my husband and I went on a college visit with our daughter to Emporia State University, and on our way home we took a sidetrip through the Flint Hills. The north winds were trying to blow in a storm, but we managed to stay dry--cold but dry. Here are a few pictures from our day:
My daughter filming some landscape footage.
Above is a picture of a cattle guard. Cattle Guards are used in the open range to keep cattle within their pasture boundaries without the use of gates. A very nifty invention.
My husband pretending he's a movie director.
And in closing, a really pretty sunlit view.
